Southie Coffee House
Coffee like a local
Tucked away in Camden South, this local gem is a standout with it's welcoming staff, excellent pastries and top notch coffee.
Southie offers brilliant coffee by White Horse coffee as well as plenty of food options with pastries Tuga Pastries, treats by Baked To a tee and Yaels Sydney providing pies.
Locals are a key part of Southie with a constant stream coming through the doors on a first name basis. A visit to this cafe seems to be well and truely part of a lot of peoples routine.
Yaels knocks it out of the park with its pies and the chunky beef was one of the best pies I have had in a long time. Delicate, flaky pastry cooked to perfection encasing a flavourful and delicious centre. If you're a pie fan this is an easy recommendation to make for your stop here.
I ended up taking home White Horse's Ayla Bombe washed Ethiopia filter roast. My wife and I are a big fan of washed Ethiopian coffees so this one was an easy decision as a take home. Tasting notes of white peach, bergamot and orange blossom is a perfect way to welcome warmer weather.
